I was just testing out my new Radeon RX 480 8G earlier today seeing how GTA V runs on it at 4K and it worked for a bit but then it reset the computer. (First crash I've had on this computer believe it or not)
When I start the computer up again I get a whole bunch of pink artefacts on the screen for a moment or two and then it goes into repair mode and so far hasn't been able to fix itself. I've put the previous video card back in and I no longer get all the pink artefacts but it appears that Windows 10 has been corrupted (kernel data inpage error) making it hard to tell how much the card is still functioning though it is functioning enough to show the blue repair screen.
I've just been hearing a lot of talk about the power draw being wrong with these cards, does it sound like I should ask for a replacement of the same type or get a completely different kind of card? I'm using only one of my two pcie2 SLI slots with a 500w psu but it is a single 6pin powered card.
Also, are the pink artefacts a sign that something has broken in the card? I don't remember seeing them originally but I don't usually sit there watching while the computer is booting up.
