I have used 8800gt, gts260, gts 450, gtx 750(current), these were all nvidia cards. One thing I marked about nvidia gpu is that they are costlier then amd and always have low vram.:kaola:

When I was googling I found that AMD's latest RX 480 which is even more powerful than gtx970 is available for only $ 199 :ouch:

199$ = 13000 to 14000 INR

At Rs.14000 Nvidia can offer gtx 750ti only which is way behind from RX 480 8gb.

Also this gpu is available in upcoming ps4k or neo, which has increased my interest towards it.

So I want to know that is this final that RX 480 will be of $199 which means 14000 rs or there will be different prices of this product in India.

I am asking this because I have to gather some money if it is more than Rs15000 and also I want to buy 8gb version of this gpu.

Solution
There are some videos in Hardware Unboxed and Digital Foundary showing the Vram usage of games showing only a few games like Minors Edge and Shadow of Mordor and GTA using around 3.5gb Vram even at 1080p, it also suggest 4gb of Vram enough for 1440p for few years, so its better go with the lower priced card now and wait for Vega releasing next year and see this http://blog.logicalincrements.com/2016/07/much-video-ram-need/
in the US from what I've read their are 3 Versions: 480 4gb 200$ 480 8gb 230$ "Breast Mode" 299$. Other then a straight conversion I have no idea when or at what price they will be selling for in India. Maybe Someone else will be more familiar with your market.

The initial price will be 25k to 31k when it releases in India and I am talking about the 4GB version. Prices are f***** up here in India. GTX 1080 is selling for 72k here while US price is 46k. Same is the case with GTX 1070. Always expect GPU prices to be much higher in India than say, US.

In the US the price of GTX 1080 is around 850 usd which translates to 55,000+ inr. But due to taxes and import duties(thats what they say), it is sold for 70,000+ inr. So in a similar way, the RX480 must cost around 20,000 inr.

But in the link, it has been marked out of stock(as of 14:00 IST on 19/06/2016). I got the price 70,000+ from amazon.in. Anyway the price mentioned in that link is reasonable. But also I've seen GTX 780Ti marked ~15,000 and out of stock.

Ironically, MD computers is the site where RX-480 showed up and it's price was mentioned as 30k. Now when I check it, the item won't show up. Is strange as the card hasn't yet been released.

Yes indeed ironical..I saw it too.. everyone is shocked too see that price..even in their fb page people are posting about this..I confirmed from them they said the price is correct..so in Indian market taxes and all are as high as 14k..facepalm

If price really remains that high, I will wait for gtx1060 and rx-470. It will be interesting to see their effect in pricing. If they are also high, I will simply buy a GTX 960 as that will be enough for my 900p monitor.

Same here..in fact I am also running a 900p monitor with a 4 years old 6950 1gb which goes as high as 98 degrees under load..I will wait to see if they set such a high price just to clear other graphics cards stock as their sales have drastically went down when raja koduri announced this $200 card..if prices dnt go down I will have to consider a 470 or 1060 or 960..bt this was very unexpected as mdcomputers offered the best deals in gaming products

Yea lol, hey which CPU are u using? I want to buy a new one below 14k and I already have a motherboard with AM3+ socket, hence only AMD. Which one do u think I should buy?

I use amd phenom ii x6 1100t 4 years old took 10000 rupees then..runs at 60degrees and 3.65 GHz at load..IMO go for fx 8350 if u are in much of a hurry..but I would suggest wait for Zen CPUs hopefully they will be below 15k unlike Rx 480 that just doubled lol

i dont think the price of rx 480 8gb version should be above 21-22k coz if u see in the onl9 stores in china the cost is about 1999*10=20000(inc tax). u can also see other europe onl9 stores it costs from 18k-20k.
finally MD Computers had the product in stock before it launched

just how ??.
The Chinese onl9 stores prize http://cdn.videocardz.com/1/2016/06/RX.480.01.jpg

Yes I hope u are right..and they priced 1070 at 38k ..only 8000 more..so maybe it's false price..but if not then nobody is going to buy it

the prices are sooo high in india maybe because They think we indians are THIRD CLASS GAMERS and they always try to sell the old generation junk electronics which no body buys in rich countries, just like APPLE was trying to sell Refurbished phones to india.
we should stop buying cheap and third class graphics cards and cheap electronics

in india RX 480 will be Rs 13333 + 28% gst =17332 so price shouldnt be over 22k for 4 gb...and sure dont try to buy it from online. i guess amazone will price it around 25 to 30 K. i had my gtx 1070 for my friend @ 38k FE in Bangalore. My suggestion buy it from a renowned shop

the price stated is very high
few months ago newegg started delivering goods to india. So i calculated the price of i5 6500 (204$)
threw in the pin code and the price stated rs 20000.amazon india lists price between rs16-18000 for i5
i think the prices will stabilize around rs17-19000 as the card is nowhere to be found as of now in any e commerce sites

Well I am sorry to spoil your enthusiasm regarding the new rx480 in india , Well we know import duty and stuff will add on to the $200 of the 4 gig version plus additional taxes which would make the final price as above 17-20k rupees for indian consumers. Plus there were some leaks regarding this and some sites are mentioning that this gfx card may cost more than 20k for sure in indian currency (i.e >$300). Lets hope the inflation of prices on this one remains bare minimum.

You are right. But I would like to add that please refer to newegg.com's Indian site. They offer at much lower rates than those of Amazon.in, Flipkart or any other local retailer. Prices on newegg are comparable to those in US (slightly higher).

wait price will definitely come down ....in Bangalore Gtx 1070 FE is 35k after 2 month it will come to 30k and for RX 480 it will be around 22 k for 8 gb....... wait for just a couple of month..

You are best off checking your actual local prices of the GPUs before going to buy your GPU. The prices may be VERY different.

Case in point: in Taiwan, RX 480 is priced in the same range as GTX 970, not GTX 960 as in the US, which makes RX 480 a much less appealing (still better c/p than GTX 970, just not anywhere near the same degree as US).

Also, nVidia is not always more expensive and have less VRAM. For example, both 1080 and 1070 are 8GB, and Fury X, current flagship of AMD GPU, only has 4GB VRAM, compared to its direct competitor, 980ti, which has 6GB. The VRAM very HEAVILY depends on the model you buy.

AMD usually have better C/P, I'll give it that, but depending local prices, that changes from country to country. Not sure if India is the same degree as in Taiwan. Also, nVidia mid-ranged card (GTX 960 and GTX 950) has much shoddier VRAM than high-end, but GTX 1060 could change that image completely.

I think he got it wrong. Maybe he is either speaking of a lappy with rx 480 ( maybe) or geforce gtx 1070 or 1080.
