I have used 8800gt, gts260, gts 450, gtx 750(current), these were all nvidia cards. One thing I marked about nvidia gpu is that they are costlier then amd and always have low vram.:kaola:

When I was googling I found that AMD's latest RX 480 which is even more powerful than gtx970 is available for only $ 199 :ouch:

199$ = 13000 to 14000 INR

At Rs.14000 Nvidia can offer gtx 750ti only which is way behind from RX 480 8gb.

Also this gpu is available in upcoming ps4k or neo, which has increased my interest towards it.

So I want to know that is this final that RX 480 will be of $199 which means 14000 rs or there will be different prices of this product in India.

I am asking this because I have to gather some money if it is more than Rs15000 and also I want to buy 8gb version of this gpu.

Solution
There are some videos in Hardware Unboxed and Digital Foundary showing the Vram usage of games showing only a few games like Minors Edge and Shadow of Mordor and GTA using around 3.5gb Vram even at 1080p, it also suggest 4gb of Vram enough for 1440p for few years, so its better go with the lower priced card now and wait for Vega releasing next year and see this http://blog.logicalincrements.com/2016/07/much-video-ram-need/

He corrected it. The 8GB one is 26k while the 4GB one is 23k (plus 5.55% VAT)

Hmm. :\ Anyways, incase he is interested in buying, asking to buy from newegg.com/global/in

Just checked now. Amazon is selling gigabyte reference Rx 480 8gb for 25000. Better price than mdcomputers or primeabgb. But at same price you can get zotac 1060 amp edition which will last for a year in front of Rx 480.
Let's wait for a month when all AIB will be out in India soon.

but the RX 480 is still not available anywhere for the revised price, i checked with my local retailer in chennai and they are yet to receive the stocks.

Same here...md computers are saying it will take some time to change the price as amd just (not really as many days passed) announced it...the gtx 1060 is a much better option for indians

Okk..but I honestly don't think aib 470 would cost much lesser than the ref 480...

Aib means add in board...I am talking abt the custom cards with aftermarket coolers from gigabyte sapphire msi asus etc
They usually cost higher than the reference editions

Well this question is an off-topic...

I have 28" inch RECONNECT HD ready TV ...(Reliance brand from India), while connecting my laptop it shows (1360x768@60Hz)
I am connecting my g505 laptop via VGA cable , which gives perfect output in my TV.
But when I connect with HDMI cable, the output decreases to 50% .
So the TV has only two HDMI and one VGA port....

My doubt is how it may work with latest GPU's which has only HDMI , Display port, DVI-I and DVI-D... but not VGA.

I do not know whether it is a good idea buying a latest GPU like rx470 or gtx970 or above and connecting in my TV.

So which one throws really a good quality - HDMI or Display port or DVI-I or DVI-D ......?????? or my TV supports only VGA ...?????

Aiming for 1080 quality not more ...

Yes, I do. I've been waiting for this card. I will shortly enquire the going rate @ S.P. Road and will leave a comment. But I'm sure some dude will beat me to that. Anyway I'm gonna get this. This ones got the latest digital output the 1.4 and 8GB of glorious sweet VRAM and this beauty is SLI compatible. Good days are upon us.

Hi Dhruv, greetings man, (btw Sunny Paji is looking for that last name 😛)

Now that the dust has settled after the initial launch party here is how it stands in India as on 9:34 AM Wednesday, 17 August 2016 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT):

Amd has reduced price of RX 480 8 GB to 22,000?- INR to 23,000 INR (depending on seller) for reference design...which according to Toms review hits 80+C @ 22C ambient temperature...and for 8 months out 12 in a year we have mean temp of 30C+ and summers are 40C+.. can be more or less depending were you are (latitude esp. i.e. hilly areas). So reference design is a no go here, unless severe throttling is on the menu.

Now the fun part: you want to buy a RX 480... me too, but ... they are more like a unicorn at the moment , only the top two importers have the reference design listed for a price of 23,000/-

But the same seller are also holding Gainward Exo 1060 for 22,600/-

and many other custom design like Zotac Mini and Dual Fan, Gainward Phoenix edition, MSI Gaming X, Asus Strix, Gigabyte Gaming 1, etc of 1060 are abundant in supply. Price range is 23,000/- to 27,000 INR with Asus going crazy for Strix 1060 triple fan cooler @ 33,000/- (but one seller has it for 29,800/-) and you can have Gainward Phoenix 1070 for 37,000/- INR.

So just get the one in Budget and is available.

P.S> Check PrimeAGBG and MD computer the only two main importers of latest graphic card in India.

And Amd if you are reading this... Way to grab market share; Price absurdly high at launch, with zero availability.

The RX 480 is a better future proof card. Once all games move to DX12 then you'd realize what you're missing out on. Also in a year you could always get a 2nd RX 480 GB and crossfire it to get stellar performance from a budget gaming rig. Personally picking the RX 480 and I intend to put two. For people who clearly want to upgrade regularly and need a sing;e graphics card, the GTX 1060 is for you.

Amd 470 is much better option than 480 since not much diff between two in fps, I would prefer 470 and crossfire it for dx 12 gaming and also for lower cost

which one is best option

I guess there wont be much difference between reference and custom designs, just 3 to 5fps ,u can get sapphire 4x 470 for 16990rs

The MSI ones are definitely better because they have much better cooling solution. I wouldn't suggest the Sapphire one. It only has one fan in a blower mode and is known to cause significant heat issues.
