[SOLVED] RX 570 4GB 6 PIN

Solution
That would be 8 pins, not 6.
And yes, you absolutely need to use all the pins present on your GPU in order for it to properly function.
6 pins provide 75w of power where 8 provide 150w of power.
I can't understand why you even ask that question. You got the right connector, you see that the GPU has 8 empty pin slots, you connect them.

What is the purpose of not using the 2 pins when you do have them? If it was another psu that did not have a 8pin and you wanted to ask about using an adapter, I could understand, but now it's redundant.

Are you worried about your PSU? What is the make and model?

Defiantly plug that extra connection in. I dont know where your friend got that "knowledge" from, but I would consider double checking anything you have heard from him now or in the future. The GPU wants an 8 pin, you have an 8 pin. even if it "would be fine", which it probably isnt, just plug it in anyway.
