Title says it.

I'm playin Far cry cry 5 and don't get me wrong it's still running at about 80-90 fps but it's only at 30-50% gpu usage.

Another game I play is Mafia II and sometimes i run at 30% gpu and its like 80 fps and then at 97% ish i get like 300 fps. I dunno what's happening and any help is appreciated. I was planning on doing a fresh windows install but if I don't have to that would be nice. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my gpu but I found that it was this and I am hopeful that it can be solved.

SPECS:

i7-7700 non-k
16gb 2400mhz
rx 5700 xt ( obviously)

Solution
Much of a GPU's business/usage percentages depend on resolution relative to available VRAM...; as the 5700XT is easily capable of 1440P play, I'd not expect to see it overly busy at only 1080P, and, certainly not with an i7-7700 (non-K)...

Do you have a frame limit? Your GPU shouldn’t be hitting 100% unless you’re wanting high FPS on a high refresh monitor or pushing resolution.
