MSI Afterburner is for overclocking the GPU and it's memory. What you've asked primarily in your thread is about overclocking memory that you drop on your motherboard. Which one are you asking about?

Might also want to include your specs for good measure.
List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

If you're asking only about overclocking the GPU, yes it will benefit you but please keep in mind that overclocking will demand more power from the PSU and can likely be a cause for fire if the PSU is not up to par.

You can try changing the memory timing level and running some benchmarks. I've seen some people say it improved their performance, for me it actually lowered performance. The effect of changing the memory timings may also vary based on your memory clock, i.e. if you've overclocked it.

If you're not sure about it, it's fine to just leave the timing setting at default.
