I recently found a deal for 2 used rx 580 8gb (msi armor mk2) for 350$ (maybe used for mining) and for Australia thats a pretty good deal.
I've always wanted to try crossfire/sli, so I thought this would be a great opportunity. But I started doing research and found that crossfire can actually be pretty bad, and overall its not worth it.

So the question im asking is if i should get that deal and run crossfire or buy a single card.

Prices of new cards in Australia:
Rx 580 8gb- 320$
1060 6gb - 380$
Rx vaga 64- 650$
gtx 1070 - 600$
gtx 1080 - 700$

Also I have a H370 plus motherboard.

Solution
I would rather buy a RX 590 or RTX 2060.
GTX 1070 and 1080 is overpricev because they are out of stock and same for vega 64. The RTX 2060 does hace gtx 1070ti like performance, depending on price it could be your best option

What the... Thats expensive! But still a better deal then a GTX 1070.

What other components do you have in your PC right know? Just to make sure that its actually worth to upgrade.
I Agree with the point that Crossfire is not great and not all games benefit from it.

Things to consider with Crossfire (or Nvidia SLI)...

1. What games do you play? Are they supported by Crossfire or DX12 m-GPU and are they supported well (no stutter etc.) with good scaling?
2. Is you CPU up to the task (I would say yes, it is).
3. Do you have enough RAM (No - you will need at least 16GB).
4. Is your PSU good enough? (Two RX 580's will draw a fair bit of power).
5. Can your case cope with the extra heat being dumped into it?

I used to run a Crossfire setup. A couple of years ago it was just about worth it. Nowadays I would say no.
Just get the most powerful single card you can afford and don't bother with multi GPU. AMD/developers have all but abandoned it.
