RX 580 and GTX 1060

The 580 has a bit of an edge overall, but they're still going to trade wins depending on the game. 8 GB may let you run higher levels of AA compared to 4 GB, but beyond that I can only think of 1-2 games that have released ultra-high quality texture packs that want more than 4 GB at 1080p.

All the reviews I've seen have the RX580 perfomring about like a hypothetical GTX1065, i.e. better than a 1060Ti....; given equal or only slightly higher prices, it's a good deal, but, the 'good 'ole days of $249 prices on GTX1060Ti seem gone for some reason...

Actually, some of the newer games now use more than 4GB at 1080p. I've started playing "Player unknown's battlegrounds" and my R9 290x can't run it on Ultra at 1080p as it runs out of VRAM. I've seen videos of GTX 1060 running close to 6GB at 1080p in the game.

its the game, it runs like crap

takes a 1070 to run ultra with decent fps
