RX 580, GTX 1060 or 1070?

Hey Guys, i'm still on the run for a new GPU to replace my GTX 780. I have narrowed it down to the RX 580, which i can afford new, GTX 1060 which i have to purchase used, and maybe i can get the 1070, but only maybe (It's out of my budget, but maybe im lucky i can find a cheap one)

I'm not really playing the latest AAA games all the time, but all my games are played on a 144Hz Monitor, 1080p.

RX 580 or 1060 or maybe 1070?

Neither 1060 or 580 are a big upgrade from 780. Obviously, if you can afford, 1070 is best choice. 580 is second and 1060 third, but note that they both in some games may fall short of 144 FPS (although you wrote you don't play AAA, so it may not affect you).

Thats not true. I upgraded from the MSI 780 Lightning, which was one of the fastest 780s - the 1060 6gb was a significant upgrade for me.

Around 35% better in most games, and the 1060 gets more for overclocking too.

That's great to hear :-D. I'm just wondering wether i should get the RX 580 or the 1060

They are pretty close in performance to be honest. I think the 580 is now a little ahead, but it uses significantly more power and creates more heat.

I7 4770k, 16GB DDR3 2400MHz memory, RM850 Gold+ PSU

Either card will be good to go. If you can budget for a 1070 then it is a good boost over the other two also.
