Question RX 580 - intermittent black screen with audio

Have a problem with games going black screen with audio still working and game still functioning. This is happening on new and old fps games.

The black screen with audio can be intermittent, only a second every few minutes to permanent. It will occur during gameplay and loading screens.

The RX 580 gpu is fully updated as is windows. Temperature are nothing special.

I've temporarily seemed to fix Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 through not playing in full screen (which is painful) but hasn't worked for the others.

Any ideas please?

I posted this on behalf of a family member and just realised they have a 650w antec that is 7 years old. I have no idea how it's survived this long.

Thinking now to replace it with a corsair tx850m bronze. Hope that works.

Yea that could be it.

650 watt is plenty big and 7 years is not that long. It is as well possible that the GPU is failing if it is possible to test the GPU in another system would help trouble shooting.

Unfortunately we don't really have the means to test it in another system. The psu seemed to fix it for a few days but the black screening is back again. It seems to work for a day if rollback/reinstall the gpu drivers.

What would be a worthwhile successor to a rx580 that doesn't make the eyes water?

I got an issue with my sapphire rx 580 too with same problems and post a question in this forum. RX 580 got much problems I think
