[SOLVED] RX 580 / To buy or wait

Hi folks ! Im interested in buying rx580 but since the new amd GPUs are gonna be released soon, not sure when exactly, since nobody knows. Would it be good to wait a few months for the prices to come down or just buy rx580 8gb now. I mostly play Battlefield 1 or Dota 2.

I'd suggest buying now since the market is back to pre-mining prices or better. I've seen 8GB 580 cards for 160-200 regularly and 6GB 1060 cards for $200.

But I'd actually be more wary of waiting with Nvidia spiking the GPU prices on new model cards a bit too much IMO. We don't want that to trend to the new AMD line, but it is possible. All speculation as anything can happen, but that 590 pricing isn't very promising for future cards.

Lowest price I have found is 308$ for Rx580 8gb with 3 games (AMD Promo), Im guessing thats still good, right ? Im not in USA tho, Croatia to be more exact.

That stands if you are in the US, prices in Croatia are just a little bit too much to handle. 1060 6gb wich you are talking about is priced at 340$ here.

The GTX 1060 6GB and the RX580 8GB perform the same. You MIGHT say that the RX 580 8GB has a slight edge over the 1060, but it's not a big enough advantage to consider.

I say go with whichever one is cheaper - in Croatia, as in the US, given the pricing, the RX 580 8GB is the way to go.

because more than nvidia it is AMD that needs more money to fund their GPU development. when nvidia start asking crazy price for the RTX series it is something that AMD have waited too long to happen. we often hail AMD as the budget king but the reality is AMD financial was heavily pressured because of that. for two generation straight nvidia actually quite successful giving the pressure to AMD when it comes to pricing.

With the mining, I think that helped AMD get some revenue. So hopefully they can get back in the game now. I'm in the United States, but was able to grab a Vega 56 for $340. Pretty happy with that card.

And the 580 is better than 1060! get the 580.

I bought one from eBay, XFX Black RX580 8GB for $139 shipped. Don't wait, because there is always a faster card around the corner. Also depending on the resolution you play and the current card you have the RX580 maybe a good low cost option. I would not pay more than $200 for one.
