Question RX 580 won't boot after BIOS reset (1 long, 3 short beeps) – Only works in mining BIOS mode

Hello,

I have an XFX RX 580 8GB paired with an Asus Prime B760M-K motherboard.

Recently, while I was in the BIOS, I accidentally clicked on "Load Optimized Defaults." After the reboot, I got an error code with one long beep followed by three short beeps. I was forced to switch my GPU BIOS to mining (silent) mode, as it's the only mode that gives me display output.

How can I safely switch back to gaming mode?

My GPU has a dual BIOS switch, but I'm not sure if I can flip it while the system is powered on.

Thank You :)

When you set the BIOS to defaults, go into the motherboard BIOS and see if CSM is enabled. If so, disable it and then see if that helps.

Speaking of BIOS what BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

Thank you for your response! I tried disabling CSM, but the issue persists. I'm also not sure about the exact BIOS version for my motherboard. How can I check and update it if necessary?

Thanks again for your help!
