Hi my i bought a new b660 motherboard and my RX 580 8gb with dual bios wont boot to motherboard bios, the pc just power cycles non stop, when i plug an older gpu that i used, to the same slot pc boots normally to bios without any problems

I tried to swich rx 580 to the other bios but the same issue, pc just power cycles.

Pc specs:
CPU - i3-12100f
GPU - Rx 580 8gb Sapphire Nitro + Special Edition
RAM - Corsair vengeance ddr4 2x8 GB 3200 MHz
Motherboard - Msi pro b660m-a wifi ddr4
PSU - DeepCool DQ 650-M-V2L 80+ Gold

What is the older GPU's model and brand ? Which video card is it ? For the RX 580, have you connected the PCIE power connectors/cables to the GPU ? Are you running the latest motherboard's BIOS ?

Is the RX 580 a brand new GPU ?

Older gpu is Amd r7 250

Yup connected both 8 pin and 6 pin cables to rx 580

Motherboard bios version is 7D43v1A so not that old, but i dont think bios is the problem.

The RX 580 is used not brand new.

I was using this rx 580 on old AM3 platform and it was working normally without any issues.

I also have that problem. Cannot boot after updating bios because i switch from 1600AF (bassicaly 2600) to 5600x,it was necessary to update bios on mine B450 Tom Max,i have RX 580 (Asus Dual 4GB model)
And after updating to bios i cannot acces anymore to the bios section
I read alot of forums in past few days, and some people said it is Uefi and Legacy problem, some said it is monitor cable related (it works only with older gpu with vga connected,i talk about bios access)
Seems like something is messed up overthere,i cannot setup my new ram and 5600x (undervolt or curve optimizer)
Ryzen master gave me a kinda meh experience with cpu,but i cannot even use XMP on my ram (3700 cl 17),it work on 1066 infiniti fabric...so it is 2132 mhz...
I ordered a RX 5700XT (i also upgrade a gpu for a gaming sesion.hopefully something will change about the bios)...
let me know if some of you figure out how this mess is about to clean
Lastest bios version, lastest amd drivers for RX 580

I fixed it by changing bios from uefi to csm

If i tried to set bios to UEFI it atomatically changes back to csm now idk why

I cannot even get to the bios to change from UEFI to csm...
Maybe i did not put my answer properly in recent message.
Im thinking about flashing the gpu now...i dont want the 5600x to operate with 1.32+voltage all the time in gaming
And i dont need 2132mhz on ram also xD

I used an old r7 250 gpu which boots on uefi idk why 😀 then enabled csm and plugged back the rx 580

I solved with gtx 750 ti xD And the problem was newest bios for b450 tom max, actually changed to UEFI bios only,i switch to CSM and everything wokrs now like a charm!
