So I had an old Gigabyte Ab350 Gaming 3 motherboard and I decided to upgrade my brothers g3258 to a Ryzen 3 1200. Whenever I try to turn on the PC nothing posts and the CPU LED is on. I even tried turning it on with no ram and it just sits on the CPU light and doesn't even change to ram. So I decided to see if maybe the CPU is doa. I took out my Ryzen 5 2400g and the PC booted fine. So I know it's not the motherboard. But here's where it gets tricky, When I went to test the 1200 in my B450 it showed lights other than CPU because I didn't install ram. Anybody have any ideas on what could be wrong?

Solution
Have you checked for any bent pins on the Ryzen 3 1200?
I just successfully booted but I had to take 1 ram stick out so I believe I got a faulty stick from Amazon

Edit - So the issue was me trying to install my old 3200mhz module and the new 2933 module. I assumed it would automatically downclock to the lowest which was 2933 MHz. That wasn't the case. So since I couldn't boot into bios, I took out the 3200 MHz stick and manually set the ram to 2933 for both and it seems to be working now.
