my PC:
- msi b350 gaming plus
- ryzen 1600 3.8Ghz 1.3v
- gtx 1050ti

due to currency rate in my country, i can sell my rig and get an upgrade from europe for +50€ max.
am planing to get rx 570 or 580, msi b450 Tomahawk ( very good VRM b450 ) and a ryzen 2600 or 1700 and overclock them with stock coolers.

some people succeeded to get the 1700 to 3.9Ghz with 1.35v + stock cooler and the 2600 to 4.1Ghz 1.35v stock cooler. lets assume that 3.8 and 4.0Ghz can be achieved with decent temps ( 75°C max in stress test )

Question is: Ryzen 1700 3.8Ghz Vs Ryzen 2600 4.1Ghz or 4.0 Ghz
Note: am planing to use both Stock coolers, so am not gonna buy another cooler.

same thoughts, i was going for the 2600, but the cooler is too bad and hard to get to 4.1
the 1700 is 8 cores for future proof + RGB cooler
fo performance i have seen some videos they are neck to neck, 2 to 3% advantage for the 2600 sometimes not always, i would give that for the RGB and the 8 cores, but in 2 years if am going to upgrade again to 8 cores, the 2700 which is better than the 170 may drop price also to the same price the 1700 is right now, who knows.

ye am getting 2x8gb 3000Mhz CL15, sorry i didn't mention it
but am stuck with CPU choice, my heart is going more for the 1700 ( 8 cores and RGB and minor difference that i don't care about )

It depends what you're using this build for. It sounds to me like you're the type to wants to squeeze out every bit of performance available.

The 1700 has better stock cooler so that's good for overclocking.
The 2600 is newer Gen and has a better architecture, which is better for overall use.

They both have their pros and cons but the deciding factor will depend on what this build is for.
If you're a gamer, I would suggest the 2600 as the higher clock speeds will allow you to provide better results and slightly better FPS.
If the goal is to use it as a workstation in which case you'd like to prioritize rendering times, the additional cores from the 1700 is what you'd want.

Just for your piece of mind, both will provide very good results for both scenarios and are very good choices. So whatever you pick you can't go wrong with it.

P.S: One thing you might consider here though is that these CPUs aren't a major upgrade from the R5 1600 that you already have (unless it's a workstation then the 1700 will provide much faster rendering times). My personal opinion would be to wait until you can afford the 2700X, where you will see a much bigger difference. I play Fortnite at my office with a R5 1600 and hit 120fps at my graphical settings. With my 2700X at home using the same graphical settings, I hit 200fps stable. With your current upgrade choices, this would translate into a 20-40 fps gains at most.

thank you for answer,
am upgrading because i can get a free upgrade, i can sell R1600 in my country for high price and get a new R1700 / R2600 for +20€ difference, same for Mobo and GPU, +15 - 20€ for each and get MSI X470 Gaming pus or high end B450 pro carbon and also from gtx1050ti to rx 580. i can sell and add +60€ Total, thats a great deal. thats why am considering :
- ryzen 2600 = 160€ + 30€ cooler to OC to 4.1 or 4.2Ghz if am lucky = 190€ Total
- ryzen 1700 = 188€ ( i will have to OC 3.8Ghz +use Stock cooler)
am leaning toward the 1700 ( rgb + 8 cores for future ) i watch all Youtubers like GNexus, TechDeals, etc... for a long time so i know all about technologies and specs. its just wise to get different thoughts maybe from from these CPUs owners thats all.

For the motherboard I will recommend a high-end B450 instead of mid-en X470. Only REAL gain of X470 is that you can use SLI for dual GPU setup (there are some imrpovements like better audio, VRM, better capictors and matrrials on X470 but these improvements may very from none, to slightly, or a bit better. Only real difference is SLI).

Happy shopping!

thanks, i was considering the lovely and famous X470 gaming plus for its price 128€ but then i took a deeper look at the VRM and it was the same as the B450 Pro carbon 125€, i think i would go for the pro carbon for the better look IMO and few RGB across the board. also the B450 tomahawk 102€ with the great VRM cooling performance., but doesn't have double components which is slightly less efficient but also -25€. the pro carbon is the sweet spot.

and for Final thoughts, i guess am going with the ryzen 1700.
Pros:
- 8 cores
- better cooler
- same gaming performance as the ryzen 2600
- better multitask performance

Cons:
- slightly worst technologie ( not that important really )
- 200-300Mhz behind the ryzen 2600.
