Ryzen 3 1200 doesn't overclock on my Asrock ab350m pro4 motherboard

Hello, recently I've been trying to overclock my Ryzen 3 up to various clock rates at different voltages in my AB350M Pro 4 mobo UEFI. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't boot up no matter what I do (different voltages and clock speeds basically fail and PC just doesn't boot up). I constantly have to reset using CMOS. Any suggestions what should I do? Everybody is succeeding in OC but not me. Does that mean my CPU or motherboard are faulty despite working fine on stock speeds and voltages?

As for cooling I have an Seasonic 520W M12II-520 EVO PSU, one exaust fan at rear and two intake on the front, I am also using the stock cooler.

Excuse me, what do you mean by setting? Are you talking about CPU voltages and clock rates I inputted in my UEFI?

Well, as I said I inputted various settins in my UEFI: 3.8 Ghz at 1.29-1.35 V, then I tried 3.7, 3.6 and 3.5 Ghz at 1.35 V, also tried 3.6, I believe, at stock voltage (~1.2 V) and still nothing.

Is this really the problem? I was considering doing that but the possibilty of bricking my mobo or damaging it discouraged me.

Nope, as long as you do it correctly use USB flash, not windows route.

Updated my BIOS to the newest version (3.10) and surprisingly it worked. 😀 I was able to hit that sweet 3.8 Ghz spot at 1.3V. Temperatures are at 40-51C during stress tests and intense games/software (idle ~40C). Altough, I'm pretty concerned atm if I should undervolt it or not.

Good temp and good voltage. Save your current setting and try decreasing voltage if you want to. If no boot or unstable, stick to 1.3. Congrats, mate

Good to hear. But does undervolting increase performance and decrease temps? Insufficient voltage for an overclocked CPU could result in additional heat or decrease in longevity.

Apparently that preset (3.8 GHZ and 1.3V) results in constant crashes while gaming. After some messing in UEFI I found out that either 3.7 Ghz at 1.29V or 3.8 Ghz at 1.35V are sufficient for my system and runs stable. Not sure which one I should keep, the difference in performance is insignificant, though.

Both are good, if 1.35v temp is good, I will keep 3.8

My advice is:
1) flash the latest BIOS
2) keep processor setting in BIOS in stock
3) download AMD utility called RyzenMaster and make all settings there. It is surprisingly good.
4) For others.. do not buy Asrock motherboards.. There are better boards for the same cost
