[SOLVED] ryzen 3600 high idle temps

I upgrade my i5 6600 to ryzen 5 3600 today, I was surprised the idle temp for ryzen higher than my old cpu 55-65 is that normal ?? I was using the default fan for both.

I run battlefield 5 and I got high temp round 83. Even my intel was running it at 75 or less. Did I get scumed?? Or there is something I can do ??

Unless you sit in a cold room and have good case airflow the stock cooler will always be meh. Don't get me wrong...it won't hurt the CPU to use it, but it will run on the hot side. Moving to a better cooler will reduce temps and improve the cpu performance resulting in slightly higher clock speeds. Ideally keeping the 3600 below 70c under load is desirable for max performance.

It's not the best, the stock cooler but you can't beat the price. I was using it for quite some time on my 3600 until I found a heavily reduced D15S with a bent fin.

I also use this cooler and have used it on both the 3600 and 5600x and it does quite well as a mid-level air cooler.
