Question Ryzen 3600, X470, and PCIE lanes.... Help!

Hello, all!
I searched profusely and could not find a solid answer to my question, so here goes.

Building a new rig. The first one in a while.
Ryzen 3600
Asus X470 Pro
16GB 3200 (2x8gb)
256GB M.2 2280
2TB M.2 2280
2x GTX 1080 SLI

So after I purchased everything, and before I assemble, I want to make sure things are going to jive correctly.
After purchasing, I thought about Ryzen only having 20 PCIE lanes.
Will I be able to run SLI and 2x M.2 drives?
Obviously I will want my GPUs and my primary M.2 to be running at full speed.
I am concerned with how things will slow down to accomodate the 2nd M.2 drive.
Should I have simply used a SATA SSD as my second drive? Or will things work out?

It should work out. The information has to be pieced together from the manual and the website.

To run SLI the two PCIe x16 slots will be running in x8 mode.
The top M.2 slot will run at PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds.
The bottom M.2 slot shares the first and third PCIe x1 slots. If either slot is occupied then it can only run as SATA mode. If both are free then the M.2 slot runs at PCIe 3.0 x2 speeds.

Keep in mind all speeds are theoretical maximums, so whether any of the graphics cards or SSDs will saturate the bandwidth available can be questionable depending on workload.

Your information aligns with what one of the techs at Micro Center also tried explaining to me. You just made it more clear.

Since in theory it should work, I will just build with what I bought and let 'er rip. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Pretty much sums it up. Alltho i would no longer bet on SLI since supoort , aka poor, is just that. Few games actually try nowadays to actively encourage dual gpu configs , as in the late 2010 quad sli configs. Club SLI is dead. Serveral games run better with just 1 card. Any 2nd GPU can be configured as PhysX accelerator card but ... not too many heavy PhysX effects in games anymore neither that would really benefit of having a 2nd card calculating these. Badaboom doesnt supports newer GPUs, and the program itself has been forgotten.
Id rather pool the money for the 2 1080 TI into 1 RTX 2080-TI. Less Noise , less heat and , less weight to push around aswell. Also its better on the PSU requirements and overall pricetag. And the tech itself isnt 3 years old already.

I just wanted to pop in with an update.

The build went smooth. The X470 Asus board already had the bios update for Ryzen 3000.
The Ryzen 3600 is purring along @ 4.2ghz, the ram overclocked easily to 3600mhz and everything is working together great. Really enjoying 4K60FPS with the eye candy cranked up!
