Hi,

I'm planning on building a 4K editing machine, mostly for premiere and resolve. Should I go with R7 1700 / 1700X or R5 2600? Also is the RX570 8GB enough since its cheaper and I wont be gaming or even for editing it's better to go with the RX580? And my last doubt, is 32GB of RAM (2x16) over kill? I see almost every video about gaming pcs going with 16GB but I want 32GB because on my laptop 16GB it's not cutting it for 4k editing ..

The rest of the components would be a B350 Tomahawk, stock cooler, a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 500GB for Windows and a HDD 2TB 7200rpm for files and a 500W EVGA power supply.

Thanks

If all cores will be fully utilized a 1700x is about 20-25% faster than a 2600x however if it's not perfectly threaded the 2600x would be faster but not by as much. I have no experience with resolve, but I don't believe premier scales perfectly. Honestly don't expect there to be much if a difference either way you go herd
