so guys, i need to know should i get a ryzen 5 1600 or a ryzen 5 1600x, and will overclocking a ryzen 5 1600 to the x versions clock, will it have a lower life expectancy.
also im new to pc building and i heard of something called custom cables? they look pretty cool and my build : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/kfTsf8 which i haven't built yet is white so how much would it be to get some sleeved white cables< just the basic amount and if you could give a uk link to buy them that would be awesome:)

Solution
I just did an R5 1600x build this past weekend. Not a problem at all with an ASRock Taichi board. I was able to OC the CPU using the AMD Master app to 4.0 without upping the voltage. I didn't push it very far or long and ran 3dMark 11 one time to see the difference vs stock 3.6/3.7 boost and it was a modest gain. I reset it to stock. Very pleased with it so far and think it has some nice OC potential. I would rather have the higher stock speed vs having to push the 1600 towards 3.8+. Just my opinion. Cooling, btw, is a 92mm Zalman I picked up in 2011 and very nice temps.

The 1600X is a higher binned chip. On average, it clocks higher at lower voltages.

Also, I wouldn't recommend liquid coolers unless you're going for the Kraken aesthetics. High-end air coolers are as good, if not better, while being cheaper. If you're going for aesthetics and buying a cooler anyway, then why not go for the higher binned chip?

It's still a great cooler. Don't worry. lol

I don't know much about custom cables. lol

As you've seen, the guy was able to hit 4.0GHz without upping the voltage. That's nearly impossible with the standard 1600 unless you've gotten the platinum chip. People underestimate the X variants. lol

yeah, also do you think that 30cm of rgb strip is enough for a case? cause thats what comes free with the case
