I'm tied between the both. I was heading towards i5 and trying to get out of the AMD phase but then I seen the Ryzens and did a little research and it seems its a tie if not the Ryzen seems better. I need advice.

Right now I have a GTX 1060 that I plan on building with the rest of the parts so it'll be either CPU paired up with my GTX 1060.

Whichever is better please suggest a decent motherboard with it. I currently have a ASUS mobo in my current build from years back but I need to know another reliable brand if possible. Not trying to spend anymore than $80-90 on one.

Thanks!

Seems so, anybody else wanna chime in?

If just for gaming then Id take the i5 8400 or 8600k. I just wouldn't buy a 4 core cpu, several games now can utilise more than 4 cores and both of these are 6 cores and much stronger cores than Ryzen offers. I just feel 4 cores has no headroom for the future and the 7600k is basically the same as a i3 8350k.

That's true, but the 8th gen intel mobos are way out of budget so it seems maybe a ryzen is ideal of should i stick with an intel? Every google search I do everyone says ryzen but dont get me wrong i really want an intel.

Ugh.. so unsure what to do.. im ordering parts i think tmrw or monday lol this isnt easy any other opinions?

I would personally go with the ryzen. In my opinion 4 cores is not going to be enough anymore. Also in my opinion if you are buying intel now only the newest 8th gen are worth considering. That is unless you get a really good deal on that intel chip.

I figured. Ill make my final decision today most likely.
