Hi All, building for my brother on a budget. Which system do you think would perform best 1080p gaming latest titles. Will the Ryzen bottleneck the 1060 @ 1080p.

Solution
Ryzen system with the 1060 would be faster in most titles, I'd pick that one just because there's more upgradability to the mobo and the 1060 has more vram. However, if he plays a lot of CSGO or other competitive fps titles and has a 144hz monitor he might get better fps with the i5, really depends on what he wants.

Solution

On average, probably not as badly as the RX470 would bottleneck the i5. One thing to keep in mind about bottlenecks is THERE ALWAYS IS (at least) ONE. Either GPU-dominated bottleneck, CPU-dominated bottleneck, or both in somewhat even measure which varies drastically depending on graphics details, game design and even between levels of the same game.

Might want to wait a little bit to see what happens with the rumored GTX1160 next month, could cause a decent pricing shuffle.
