I am building a rig with a ryzen 5 2600 and an rx590 and I was wondering how it would hold up in modern day AAA games at ultra/high detail. I am mainly interested in far cry 5 and battlefield 5

Specs are good. But what's the screen resolution of your MONITOR ? Also, which power supply unit do you have ? It depends on the type of Game you are playing.
Some games are more CPU-bound. and some are more GPU-intensive...Depends on the Game's ENGINE ! BTW, get a faster and higher clocked MEMORY Kit (dual channel), if you plan to use that RYZEN CPU.
