Have a quick question.

I don't plan to overclock.
I don't stream.
I play a few games but think more The Sims than Battlefront 2. But I may get into more intense games in the future.
It'll be going into a Gigabyte B450M Ds3h motherboard.

Should I go for the Ryzen 5 2600 or 2600x?

The 2600x is about £20 more expensive but if that means I get about a 10% boost, over the life of the PC, it'll be worth it I think.
But the power draw of the X puts me off a little and I don't know if I would really make sure of the extras it gives.

Solution
I would recommend you go for the Ryzen 5 2600 and do a 10%-15% overclock depending on the cooler you buy. If you go with the stock cooler, overclock until you see high temperatures. You will get more bang for your buck.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't pay attention to the "I don't plan to overclock" part. I would stick recommend you go for the 2600 and save the money.

I was faced with this same decision a few days ago. Seeing that the 2600 is going for 150$ right now, it was no question in my case. I went with the 2600 due to price to performance.
