Im using a i5 7400 at the moment and i want to upgrade to the 2600x with a new mobo. Im planning to stream on this build so i suppose ryzen is a better option but is this the best ryzen 5 option or is the 2600 also good?

Solution

Sorry, so yes the 2600 would be a good upgrade for streaming. The X version is clocked slightly higher but XFR2 will auto boost the CPU to at least 3.8ghz if not higher so it's not necessary to pay extra for the X version. I would pair this with a B450 motherboard.

What memory do you have?

But i already have a 1060. I only want to upgrade my cpu so i can run my livestream on it. And play games like fortnite on stream.

For the same price or even less, you can buy a Ryzen 7 and a RX 580 with 8Gb.

No point in buying a 2600x when its about the same price of a Ryzen 7. Also the 1060 3Gb is not good at all compared to the RX 580.

It is 2133 Mhz. Im planning to upgrade ram in the future too, but should i upgrade 2x4 or 1x8. I know that 2x8 is the best but i dont want to replace the old. I dont know if it is capable of dualchannel.

Also ryzen 5 3600 is expected to come out this year. Isn't it better to wait fpr the 3rd gen?

That's slow for Ryzen, going from 2133 to 3200 can make a 20 FPS difference depending on the game and having dual channel (2x8gb) will provide the better performance over a single stick. The 3rd gen may be released this year so you may want to wait for CES in a few days.

Okay i wil wait till ces is over and if it isn't released i will buy the 5 2600 and then upgrade my ram later on
