Question Ryzen 5 3400G vs i5 6400?

im planning to upgrade my pc little by little so i decided to upgrade my cpu and board first. i decided to upgrade to ryzen 5 3400g and a b450 because i found a good bundle at my local computer shop and later on i’ll upgrade to ryzen 5 3600 or next gen of ryzen cpus and a gpu. the reason why i went picked an apu because i dont have the money yet to buy a gpu i don’t want just to buy a low end cpu like a gt 1030 or a rx 570 (it is the lowest priced amd card available yet it is out of my budget) because the gpu im planning to buy is a gtx 1650 super with a r5 3600

The Ryzen is newer, faster, and cheaper than the i5 you mentioned in the title. It's no contest there.

Everything else sounds reasonable to me. Using an APU until you can buy a stronger GPU is a good move for incremental upgrading.

Rx 570 is quite comparable to gtx 1650 super and at 1080p CPU is more important, what is your current GPU ?

The R5-1600 is often sold for as little as $79....

Add an RX570 or GTX1050, and you will be far ahead in gaming capabilities...

(The 3400G is great for a budget rig that might only play Medal of Honor, Quake 3, etc...; it's integrated GPU is merely GTX1030-level which is quite low, but, certainly twice as good as Intel's)

an iGPU lmao ive been using a potato pc for years and haven’t played any graphic intensive games yet so ill be saving up for a 1080p pc setup

if i live in the US, i would buy the ryzen 5 1600 AF (i saw the vid before you posted it) so im stuck with 2600 or worse (for my budget) an 3600
