Ryzen 5 9600X CPU at an all-time low, comes with a free 500GB PCIe 4.0 SSD

It's not a bad deal, but if you look at total system cost vs. performance you get out of it, 9600X on AM5 isn't ideal.
If you want to upgrade the CPU later on, that means you need to buy a capable and pricey mobo that drives up total cost.
Or you can buy the cheapest AM5 mobo, which has less features than a mini-PC, and is unlikely to handle a higher power CPU.
Instead, at that price I would look into minisforum Ryzen 7/9 MoDT or a Ryzen 7/9 5xxx/6xxx/7xxx mini-PC from whichever brand you fancy.

Where'd you get that idea from? Most of the AM5 boards out will handle the 230w of the top CPU skus. The super cheap boards with bad or no vrm cooling still fail with the low end CPUs and shouldn't really be bought in the 1st place. Buy a half decent board. If you think you're likely to upgrade, you're automatically going to be fine. There is nearly no situation where you're a person likely to upgrade the CPU, but a mini PC will do. They're mostly laptops without screens or option of discreet graphics. Less upgrade and expansion options.
