on par or better in some games. If you are streaming then the ryzen will win out. If on pure gaming FPS (about 10% increase - only in certain games that don't make more use of the 6 threads of the i5) then the I5 may win out. On multitasking/streaming and gaming simultaneously the Ryzen will win out. Just make sure to OC R1600 to about 3.8ghz to really max out the 1070. You will be happy out gaming at 1080p 60-120hz, or 1440p 60hz. Enjoy :)

if you are only gaming,i5 8400 outperforms by a wide ryzen the 5 1600. That said, you should buy the cheapeast z370 possible(I think currently asus z370-prime p is the cheapeast one and also an excellent option for a locked cpu) Now,if you plan on doing editing or streaming you should get 1600.Lastly,I would advise you to buy a better gtx 1070. Asus/Msi/Gigabyte/Evga all are excellent options.
