Hello there! I am building my first gaming PC, and I am on the edge between these two CPUs, ryzen 7 2700x vs i7 8700k. I am going to use this PC for only gaming, but I sometimes might type essays or do a bit of coding. My cooler right now is the NZXT - Kraken X62 Rev 2. I am also going to be gaming on a 24’ 1440p monitor, around 144hz and with g-sync. My graphics card is a MSI GTX 1080 Armor.

Here is my setup so far:

By the way, if you could make me a better build for $1,560, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Well for gaming the i7 will always come out on top, the only problem is the price difference. The other thing to consider is zen 2 which is rumoured to be coming out in may. So it depends on how desperately you need the pc. If you give me a few mins ill take a look at the parts list.

It seems like prices have gone up since you made that build, its 1800 and the graphics card isn't in stock anywhere. You wouldn't be able to make one for 1500 without sacrificing the parts you want.

with a gtx 1080 it wont make a difference, at 1440p that will be the bottleneck without turning settings down. Even with a 1080 ti at 1440p most games wont make a difference at max settings.
