Intel i5 6600k
Msi z170a gaming m5
Gskill trident z 3200mhz
Galax rtx 2060 super
1080p 165hz monitor
Help me choose over here(India) ryzen 7 3700x cost 29000($387) and Intel 10700k cost 34000($460) on Amazon and 31500($420) on local retail shops. I know the Amd has included heatsink and Intel doesn't is it worth getting the Intel over amd? is the price worth the consideration? if the amd cpu was around 23000 ($309) like in other Countries i would pick up the 3700x no doubt so is it worth spending the little extra and get the intel or should I get the 3700x with b550 motherboard cost($253) and wait for the upcoming am cpu? or the z490 cost($273) MSI z490 tomahawk? I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon.

Solution
Have you overclocked your 6600K?
If not, there is some 20% better performance available for free.
As of 12/04/2016
What percent can get an overclock at a somewhat sane 1.40v Vcore.

I5-6600K

4.9 14%
4.8 38%
4.7 67%
4.6 87%
Your i5-6600K has 4 threads and a passmark rating of 6253. That is when all 4 threads are fully utilized. The single thread rating is 2326.
For gaming, the single thread performance of the master thread is all important.
Your motherboard would support a i7-7700K with 8 threads and a rating of 9722/2769.

Because you have a GTX2060S, I imagine that your primary goal is gaming.
To that end, I think a i5-10600K would be a very good upgrade.
Games can not usefully use more than about 6 threads unless it is...

Ryzen 5600X will be both cheaper, faster, and cooler than a 10700K on the vast majority of games. But to get the most out of it, you'll need a B550 Board at least.

Between the two, 10700K and 3700x, the 10700 will be faster on a 1080p monitor on most games. But the cost increase is not proportional to the frames gained. Plus it will run hot. Expect to spend another $75 (5500+ rupee's) on a good air cooler.

Unless you also plan to upgrade your monitor & GPU I don't really see any reason for you to upgrade. But if I had to choose one I would go with the 3700x because of price. Keep in mind even though it comes with a heatsink, no one really uses them.

If you are a gamer theres no wrong answer here.

Either the Ryzen 5 3600/3700X/5600X or the Core i5 10400/10600K/10700K will be a very good update over your current Core i5 6600K, which on most current (and not soo new) games it wont matter if you OC or not, it will limit your RTX 2060 Super.

And other guys here are right, at least until tomorrow, any intel CPU should give you a better FPS boost in 1080p (tomorrow Zen 3 may, and probably will, change the landscape completely). If you are planing on going 1440p anytime soon then any CPU will do the trick.

5600x or 5800x for best performance.
over where i live 5800x would cost about 42000 Indian rupees($567) which is just insane i don't think i would stretch my budget that far i was considering that too but seeing the way they price things over here its just not worth it for me tbh but thanks for the reply :)

i have tried overclocking yes 4.4Ghz seems to be the limit for the cpu i have anything over 4.4 i can't seem to get a stable oc even @ 1.400v considering the heat and performance it offers it really didn't matter much.

Not gonna be updating my monitor or the gpu anytime soon i forgot to mention i do already own a Corsair h75 aio cooler, i was planning to upgrade the cpu cooler to something like a 240 radiator but i changed my mind. Sorry i didn't mention it earlier.

Your H75 may be quiter than the stock one that comes with the chip, but a 240 would ideal.

current prices for the processors that i am interested atm. Ryzen 3700x @$391 , 3800x @$419, 3800xt @$452. Intel i5 10600k @$351, i7 10700k @$459. B550 motherboards that i'm interested in MSI b550 tomahawk @$229 or Gigabyte Aorus pro @$229 lastly if i plan on getting intel the only reasonably price z490 motherboard is the Msi z490 tomahawk @$283 the prices are the issues i'm having trouble deciding which to get i play games and also do 3d rendering.

i do own a Corsair h75 aio cooler but i was having doubts earlier about the mounting compatibility did my research an found out its still compatible so i won't be buying one soon. the 3700x cost 30000 ($405) and the intel 10700k cost 31500 ($425) on local shops thats where my confusion starts is it worth spending more for the intel on both the cpu and the notherboad or should i just get the cheaper ryzen @$405 and cheaper b550 mobo @$229 ?

Hey buddy ill also recommend you to go for Ryzen 7 3700x it's good for its price i wouldn't consider 10700k not only because it's expensive but consumes more power and gives more heat.

My short take on Intel 10700K vs AMD 3700X...

10700K
-go for it, if gaming is your top priority (and you're familiar with overclocking)
-CPU+motherboard much more expensive than AMD system
-must buy decent CPU cooler to begin with
-relative high power draw and heat dissipation compared to AMD system

3700X
-overall PC performance is the same as with 10700K in everyday use (you can still play games normally).
-CPU+motherboard cheaper (compared to Intel system)
-motherboard even cheaper if you decide for B450 or X470 mobo!
-no need to buy CPU cooler
-much more power efficient (easier to keep PC cool and silent)
-for money you saved (compared to Intel system), you can get a M.2 NVMe SSD which will increase overall speed tremendously.

Future:
If it happens, in 2-3 years you realize you need faster PC, you simply replace 3700X with some 5000 series CPU (after prices settle down). Yes, you could do that with Intel too, but keep in mind that in Intel case, you already paid more at start.

Final thought:
I assume you have limited budget (don't we all?), so suggesting 5000 CPU series paired with B550/X570 mobo is kinda out of topic.

Just my 2c worth
