Question Ryzen 7 5800x3d or ryzen 9 5900x for RX 6800XT

Hello, been wondering which one to choose from. Which one is faster overall just for this gpu? They do seem alike. However 5900x have more cores and threads.

For productivity the 5900x and games that use primarily a single core.

5800x3d for all around gaming.

Also depends on the monitor resolution.

Hello, i'm planning on upgrading my monitor to 1440p aswell, however. I'm using an 1080p monitor rnow. So 5900x is basically as good for gaming and productivty while 5800x3d is good for gaming but not productivity?

Yea, the 5800x3d is a gaming focused CPU. Even a regular 5800x will out perform it, in productivity, due to lower clocks.

That makes total sense, thank you both a lot. So i think 5900x could be good, but it's still a hard choise because there is a 10 dollar different so i'm like damn why can't it be 100 dollar difference instead haha.

If all you do is game, the 5800x3d. If you are doing more than gaming, 5900x.
