I’ve had a ryzen 7 1700 cpu for 2 years now with an msi tomahawk b450 motherboard and it was all good, the cou temp was always maxed at 55 degrees at normals usage and maybe 70 in nfs heat.
Then a friend of mine recently bought a ryzen 5 2600 cpu which on paper it should of been slightly slower than mine but in games like league he has drastically more fps, around 60 or 100 more and even when i gave him my gpu he still had the same fps. I noticed his cpu was clocked at 3.6ghz while mine stayed at 3.0 so i did the first thing i thought of and overcklocked it to 3.7 which went well in a stresstest with no overheating on cpu or motherboard but as soon as i start a game its not only the same fps as before but the cpu is running around 3.0 to 2.9 ghz.
