Hi All,

Just built a PC today with Ryzen 2400g. However once I booted up CS:GO I get an error regarding microsoft basic display adapter. I have already installed Ryzen Master, Direct X and AMD software. Even uninstalled AMD software for a retry and it installed the display adapter + whatever else only to find it still won't work once I boot up CS:GO. Doom also gets another error message.

Which one do I install? Already installed the top one.

Alright I have 18.9.2 installed so it isn't the graphics driver... Any other suggestions? I actually have no clue

"it popped up with an error which meant I had no graphics"

You've obviously been able to see something on screen in order to install the driver so you must have graphics -- you wouldn't be able to install any drivers otherwise - :/

"However when I tried to play it popped up an error"

When you tried to play what?
Error details please?

Being vague about error messages doesn't help us to help you.

This is the error:

Device Info:
Your graphics hardware does not support all features (CSM) needed to run this game.
Marked unsupported: 0
Supports PCF Sampling: 0
DriverName: "Microsoft Basic Render Driver"
and whatnot afterwards.

The game was CS:GO. Doom is similar too.

Thanks -- that's a bit different to "having no graphics" which you first implied. I had a hunch it was related to gameplay & GPU requirements.

Error refers to "Microsoft Basic Render Driver" - which in turn indicates that you haven't installed graphics driver for the Ryzen's Vega 11 graphics chip.
So, contrary to your previous assumption, it is a graphics driver issue. Without the correct driver, advanced features of the Vega graphics chip will not be available to your games.

Good luck!

Hey Mate,

Still isn't working. Uninstalled AMD software for a reinstall. Installed the software w/display adapter included but still get the same message. Don't know what is going on here.

Sorry, didn't work either. Seriously giving me headaches tonight. Definitely have the latest driver 18.9.2 installed yet it doesn't pick up my drivers.

Only have Doom and CS:GO so far. Just sent windows into a reset, I will try start again with a clean slate. Are you able to give me an order of events to follow upon once I set it back up in the morning? Don't want to mess anything up this time like I have likely done. (First build)
