Hello everybody,
For start Im sorry if this is long thread Im in dilemma and I want you to know whats my situation.
I was thinking to build a new workstation for web development and little gaming. My PC is old, and I don't play game as much as before.
My specs are:
CPU:Intel i3-2120 (3,30 GHz 2C/4T)
RAM:8gb 1333 MHz Patriot dual channel (4GBx2)
GPU:MSI NVidia GeForce GT 630 2GB (got at as a gift)
M/B:MSI H61M-P20 motherboard (LGA1155 socket)
Storage:WD Blue 1TB.
My budget is around 460-500 dollars, Im planing on upgrading in future. You can help me, by advising me what to get at the start or future upgrading.
My idea for that budget is this (NOTE that here in my country prices are higher then USA market because of higher VAT) and this is the cheapest store in the country :
CPU: Ryzen 2200g - 135.48$
Storage: 1TB WD Blue 7.2K RPM - 52.78$ (or 2TB Seagate Barracuda Guardian 7,2k - 81.57$)
M/B: ASUS PRIME A320M-K M Mikro ATX M/B - 62.90$
RAM: DDR4 8GB 2400MHz Kingston Fury Black (one stick) - 114.29$
PSU: 500W Raidmax RX-500XT 80plus 38.37$
Case: didn't decided around 30 to 45$ I love nice Cases with good air-flow.
Total: 448,82$ with 1TB Storage drive;
Total: 477,61$ with 2TB drive.
I dont need a GPU I play games a little and here good GPU costs like poison with bit miner. Maybe in the future I will buy GPU.
In conclusion:
Is it smart to go for 1 RAM stick for now and add 1 more later when I have the money, or buy a 8GB kit (4GBx2), a 8BG kit costs 125.16$ and invest later on 16GB kit. Because Ryzen CPU's perfoments are depending on ram speeds and dual channel , and what if 8 GB will not be enough for my work and gaming in the future.
I work with PC's all my life, custom builds, repairing, teaching disabled kids and grown-ups to use it. Now Im finishing course for Web development, I dont have much money to invest in new pc but this one is dying.
Im sorry once again I want to make a good decision on investment of a new system.
