Hi.

Anyone have an idea how to disable SMART monitoring on a Compaq Deskpro ENS
866?

It reports iminent drive failure but I don't care about it. I'm using this
PC only for surfing and chating. For that I don't want to change the drive
before it dies. And it's realy annoying pressing F1 every time the pc
starts.

Thnx in advance

The SMART feature can in many cases be turned off in the BIOS. I know
in AWARD BIOS it has the feature.

In this case it can't. So I need some trick or I'll be pressing F1 until the
drive dies.
