I recently built my first gaming PC (build is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2m2xf) and I'm trying to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, an old PC game I was never able to play on a console. However, when I attempt to install, it says that my video card "doesn't meet game's system". Is my GPU too new to run this game? Will I experience issues if I attempt to run this game on my rig?

Thanks.

You should be able to activate it through Steam. If not then make sure you have all the updates for the game.
Is the game up to date? Game activates through Steam I believe at least mine does so it should be the latest version. It should work fine.

It's a physical copy, not through Steam. I found it cheap a few years ago, bought it for my home PC, and found out that my computer at the time wasn't up to spec. It's just been sitting in a drawer ever since.

I assume so, my GPU registered normal results when stress testing. Also, in the game setup it does list my GPU (AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series ~-1024MB), but it just highlights it in red and says it doesn't meet the game's system.
