hi there,
last week i decided to buy new parts to build my new pc, once i assemble averything together i installed my copy of windows 7 x64 and before i had done anything else i have updated the bios as asus suggested on their website and after that i curried on installing my software.
everything was looking fine, temperature were fine, everything look good. after two days of the pc life i was playing flight simulator x and suddently the pc power off while i was playing and i thought that was strange. i have checked every parts of the pc and it looked fine then i took all the parts off the motherboard mem ram, graphic cards and disconnected all fan but the cpu fan and then i noticed something strange, when i removed the 8 pin atx 12v cable or cpu power the pc would power on but of course without booting. So i went out to buy a new psu which i though had fail but with my great disapointment the psu was not the problem, now this wasn t my first pc that i have built and i pretty sure that i have done everything as is was suppose to be done but i never come accross a similar problem before.
my pc
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
PSU: xfx pro 850w
processor: AMD 8150 8 core
motherboard: sabertooth 990fx 2.0
graphic cards: gtx 550ti x2 running in SLI
memory ram: corsair ddr3 16GB duel channel 1600 2x8 GB
no water cooling
I kow most of motherboard will take 1333 mhz but using 1600mhz should not damage the system!!
any ideas
thanks
