safe cpu temp

hi, i just finished building pc second pc
i have an i5 4690k cpu on an msi z97 gaming 5 mobo and a cooler master hyper 212 evo cooler.
my cpu is at clock speeds.
while my pc was installing a game from steam i was looking at the msi command centre and it says my cpu is in the mid to high 40 degree celcius point. is this ok as an idle temperature?
im worried that something went wrong when i put the thermal paste on the cpu...

Its normal for intel, i'd worry about temp when it crosses 80c while at load.
