Same Brand, Speed, Latency, but different size, will dual channel still work?

You might get to use the first 4Gb of the 8GB stick in dual channel.
But they might not work at all.

DDR3 and DDR4 are much more picky than DDR2 was so a 'kit' is by far the best way to go.
