Same hardware with Windows 8 & Mac OS X

Okay, I have no idea if this is the right forum to ask, but I built a Hackintosh / Windows 8 machine that works great. I do a lot of 3D work and I prefer windows for some reason to do this work. However I noticed that renders were significantly slower, maybe 20% slow on windows. When I boot into OS X I get really good render times.

Exact same hardware different OS's.. is there some optimization stuff I could do on windows to make work faster?

Hardware, Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H, GTX 770 SC, i7 4790K

I noticed the task manager in windows says CPU max frequency is 4.0 GHZ.. shouldn't it say 4.4 GHZ for this cpu?

My 3D apps are Cinema 4D and Modo. Both slower render speeds in Win 8.

Thanks!

Usually that means driver issues or software is wonky. In this case, drivers might be the issue, especially if you are using custom firmware images or running 8.1 outside of standard boot methods (i.e. bootcamp). Bootcamp especially is an issue, since Apple always loads performance crippling drivers.

If you aren't running standard Windows 8.1, nuke OSX and just properly install 8.1
