Same ip range as wired lan

My office infrastructure is under 192.168.1.2-255 range with gateway 192.168.1.1 and subnet 255.255.255.0. I have a wifi router in the network as well. But it makes its own network via dhcp of 192.168.3.1 series. Its lan ip is set to 192.168.1.77. Now via my firewall at 192.168.1.1 i can see activity of only the wired wifi router and cannot actually see the wireless devices and what activity they are doing. Is there any way i can get the wireless devices in the 192.168.1.x network?

You need to turn-off the routing functions on the wireless router and use it as an access point in order to put it onto your existing network. You can't have two devices assigning IP addresses.

This might be called "transparent bridge" on your device. What wireless device do you have?

The ips on my 192.168.1.1 netwrk,btw, are not by dhcp. We assign manually. Its a tplink tl-wr740n. Thanks!

You don't want to use your device as a router, you want to use it as a bridge.

What you want to do is disable DHCP and disable NAT (set it to transparent bridge), but I don't think your wireless device supports that configuration. I looked at the manual and couldn't find it 🙁. It could be that they have renamed the feature to something, or I missed it.

If you are comfortable installing custom firmware on your device you can install DDWRT to get additional features.

You do not have to change the software just plug into the LAN port rather than the WAN and it will become a AP. Be sure to disable the DHCP
