I am sorry it may be long.
Previous two graphics card of mine became dead showing same problems. First one AMD Radeon HD 6770 and next one Zotac Geforce GTX 650 2GB ddr5. Fortunately my GTX 650 has warranty replacement. I am asking here because I cannot figure out what causes this particular GPU failure. Both graphics card were in different systems. Radeon HD 6770 was in my old system. I bought everything new along with GTX 650. Display remained same for both my systems. No physical damage is visible on both graphic cards.
Old System:-
Motherboard: Asus P5QPL-AM
Proccessor: Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM: 3 GB
GPU: AmD Rageon HD6770
Memmory Storage: 160GB + 1TB
OS: Windows 7
New System:-
Motherboard: Intel DB5FL
Proccessor: Intel I5 4440
RAM: 4 GB
GPU: Geforce GTX 650
Memmory Storage: 1TB + 1TB
OS: Windows 8.1
Now about the Symptoms. It starts with display showing no signal without crashing windows comes back after a moment it happens quite often. The final stage is that when I turn on my cpu nothings comes on my display but it does boot and I could hear my windows startup sound through speaker. GPU fan and every other fan works in my cpu, checked my RAM, checked power cables and everything . I found out it was the problem with graphics card when I connected DVI cable to my motherboard and display shows. This may be the most irritating problem of a GPU because I was confused with RAM, motherboard, display, cables, and even hard disk or booting if you missed hearing sounds through speaker.
Does anybody had this particular problem?. Unfortunately my friends and cousins never had this problem, the shop were I bought this system(which has a service center) could not figure out. They just said it was dead. I want to know how and why it happened. For my GTX 650 because of warranty the shop just took it for warranty replacement.
I am so confused because same thing happened for two of my graphics card and both of them was in different system. Is it because of room temperature, overheating, over using I don't know.
Reasons may have caused.
1. My room is very hot with very very limited ventilation(thick neighborhood blocking wind).
2. My area has voltage fluctuations all the time.
3. I play games for like 2 to 3 hours a day, but when downloading some thing big I leave the PC on for overnight keeping the display off.
4. The area where I live is very dusty so is my PC.
5. I Used same display for both my systems. I don't know but may be something like display making it short circuiting.
If anybody had this problem please share it with me. Is this really a problem with hardware or is it something to do with the software?
