Hello
I just bought this pc and when i download stuff it makes a weird sound like when booting up or when u insert a disk
Can sb help me indentify if its normal or a problem

Solution
And what do u mean by that
Meaning it will be fine.
But eventually, it WILL die.

When that might be? Completely unknown.
A few years ago, I had a 3TB WD go from seemingly perfect to dead in about 36 hours. It was 5 weeks old.

I had a 1TB SSD die literally instantly. 33 days past the 3 year warranty.

Software can tell you its condition right now. It can't always predict what might happen tomorrow.
Sometimes you get an indication. Sometimes not.
If there is any data on it you wish to protect, be proactive. Don't wait until it makes funny noises, or your testing software says it is going bad.

Always be prepared for it to die.

Details, please.
New or used?
Desktop or laptop?
Is this 500GB an internal drive or external?
Is it the only drive in the system?

Making 'noise' is not necessarily bad. Making new noises generally IS bad.

However, don't rely on the sound of a drive, or any testing software, to tell you it is good or bad.
Drives can go from great to dead almost instantly.
And all drive die eventually. All of them.

The best time to protect your data is before anything bad happens.

Its almost new(a bit used before i got this like half a month) internal desktop hdd
My windows is installed in my ssd and i use my hdd for game files
I havent got any important data on it but im just curious to know is it a normal sound
Btw i got it from my cousin he bought it brand new and used it for like 2 weeks

Some drives make a fair amount of access noise when reading or writing...

examine CrystalDiskInfo report, looking for any health issues...

Then run GsmartControl fast/or quick/2 min test, or, CrystalDiskMark, default 5 passes is fine. Each of those writes quite a bit to several areas of the disc, so, you should hear your 'noise' in force.

If all that works, and, no errors, it might just be normal read/write noise...
