hey so I have recently purchased the Samsung 950 pro 256 GB.
installation went smooth but the only thing is that the reported link speed by magician is half motherboard's m.2 capability.
magician reports 5.0 gbps and as far as I know the motherboard supports up to 10 gbps on the m.2 connector so why is it only 5 gbps and how do I change it?

here is the screen shot:

my pc specs:

m/b: GA-Z97X-Gaming 7
memory: Kingston HyperX Beast 16 GB Kit (2x8 GB) 2400MHz DDR3
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming running in 2-way SLI
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit

if you need any more info about my specs let me know

Solution
Don't worry about those reported speeds, the drive will not come close to saturating the bus speeds. Do a drive speed test not just the link speed. Many computer issues are caused by trying to fix an "issue" that is not one.

Your m.2 connector is gen 2.0 so you will get much better performance by using a pcie adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Lycom-DT-120-PCIe-Adapter-Support/dp/B00MYCQP38?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00) on your gen 3.0 pcie x8 slot if it's available.
