Hello,
I am embarking on my first solo PC Build and would like to know if I can use a Samsung 970 Evo as my boot device.
Motherboard purchased is the Asus ROG Strix Z390-E gaming that has 2 nVME sockets for 2880 m.2 storage devices.

I am asking because a friend has caused me to doubt the ability of the 970 Evo to be used as a boot drive.

Please restore my confidence and tell me that it can indeed be used as a boot drive on my motherboard!! <3

Solution
I just did my build today. I've got an asus rog strix Z390-E and I'm booting from a samsung 970 pro nvme ssd. Bios handled it for me. NVMe is incredibly fast. I put mine in M.2_2 slot.

Question from dsanch9487 : "970 Evo w/ Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming"

Hello!
This will be my first Solo PC Build and I just want to be sure about something before moving forward.

I have purchased the Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming motherboard and would love to use the Samsung 970 Evo 500gb as my boot drive.

Is this possible?? I know the MoBo has 2 slots for nVME storage...

Please restore my confidence :pt1cable:

Thanks all!
