Question Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVME not recognized in BIOS

Building a new system with a new samsung 990 pro 4TB NVME drive and the BIOS won't recognize the drive. Here is the system I am building:
MB: ASRock Z790 Lightning WiFi
CPU: i7-13700KF
RAM: G.Skill DDR5-7200 16GB x 2
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVME

What I have tried so far:
Update BIOS to v5.05(latest)
changed several BIOS settings
Installing in another PC, B760 chipset (didn't recognize either)

What I haven't tried yet.
clearing CMOS
Installing in another M2 slot
changing other BIOS settings (would mostly be trial and error)

Since the 990 Pro 1TB is supported, is it safe to assume the 4TB is as well? Any particular BIOS settings to focus on? I've tried CSM enabled and disabled as well as a few other things.

Capacity doesn't matter it should work without any bios tweaking. There's nothing to tweak anyway. Since drive fails on two different motherboards would suggest 990 4TB is probably DOA.

Yeah, try the other slot, and if it doesn't recognize it I'd also say its DOA
