I run an GTX 1080 that I'm going to upgrade soon and my Samsung CFG70 144hz has the option between Freesync Ultimate Engine or a response time setting that works as a blur reduction (I think).
It has a bit of motion blur on it with it's VA panel and I don't know if it's something that I'm gonna get used to or not.
I mostly play Halo Infinite on higher settings (90-110 FPS) and Rainbow Six Siege (200+ FPS) with also the occasional single player game that performs similarly to Halo Infinite.

Should I run it's response time setting at the cost of a brightness setting (and maybe picture quality?) or Freesync with V-sync and low latency mode set to ultra?

Thanks in advance.

But would it be a better option with a VA display like mine? I don't know if the higher amount of motion blur is something I can get used to or if I'm just doing something wrong.
I also can't use both MBR and G-sync.

Try not using low latency and Vsync. See if that smooths things out. Also make sure your display is actually at 144hz. You can also try setting your fps limiter to 143fps. That way the fps stays around the same as your refresh rate.

Alright so right now I'm running with settings of:
  • (NVCP) Low Latency Mode: On
  • (NVCP) Vertical sync: Fast
  • (OSD Settings) Response time: Fastest/Faster
  • (RivaTuner) Fps cap: 143
Would that be fine for now?

Also I've seen people recommend setting fps limit 0.01 down from your original refresh rate or setting it down a bit further by 3-5fps. Would that make any more difference or not?
