samsung DVD ROM won't recognise DVDs!

Can anyone help to get it working again?

It only recognises CDs. I have upgraded the firmware to 1.5

Try cleaning the optics with one of those lens cleaning CDs.

I could try that and thanks for the tip. The thing is, I've been searching on the internet, and there are posts and messages all over the place from people with the same problem.

Google groups returned loads of hits on this problem, but not a single person had an answer!

Wierd, I've e-mailed Samsung though, so I wonder what they'll say.
