Samsung Evo 960 with Asrock z68 pro3 gen 3 compatible?

Hello,

my old HDD finally gave up its service so now i was looking for a new drive. Since i dont need huge amounts of storage i want to buy a SSD.
Now the fastest SSD i found was EVO 960 (wich doesnt cost like 1000€). The thing is that it needs a PCIe 3.0 x4 Slot and i only have a PCIe 3.0 x16 (and some 2.0 slots). Furthermore i dont have any m.2 slots nor do i know if my mainboard supports NVMe.
So do you guys know if it would work with this mainboard and most importantly wont throttle down?

dont buy that. i just installed 1 yesterday and today it overheats. just get a normal SSD. or untill atleast they have some heatsink that comes with it dont buy it.

I suggest that you get a 850 Evo. The performance is amazing improvement over a HDD.
Your motherboard has Sata 3 6GB/s, and an 850 Evo can do over 5Gb/s, which is a good match.
