Hi,
I just bought an Asus z390-F motherboard and a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. I have an older Samsung 840 EVO that I've cloned and what puzzles me is the benchmarks of the two drives, the numbers for my 840 drive seems unreasonable (see https://www.dropbox.com/s/uw722umcztngrvj/840vs970.png?dl=0). I've tested multiple benchmarking software's (Samsung Magician, ATTO Disk Benchmark and UserBenchmark) and the all show the same thing, that the 840 is performing better than my 970. What is odd though is that the ATTO numbers for the 970 seems fairly resonable given the specs for the drive while the numbers for 840 are off the chart. Any ideas why I'm seeing this?

Solution
Do you have RAPID mode enabled for the 840 EVO?
If so, that is why. That is using part of your RAM as a cache, and the benchmarks are reading your RAM speed, not the drive.
